This is new. You have questions. We have answers.
We are asking you to stretch a little and get comfortable with some creative space. But we understand that you'll have questions. Here are some additional details about the event.
If we've missed anything, please contact us at email@example.com.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
I asked my mother this question when I was planning for my first day of high school. She took me shopping and we came home with a purple suit. That morning, I woke up and put on my favorite pair of jeans and a white t-shirt and felt just right all day long.
You do you. Make good choices.
WHERE AT THE GAYLORD WILL WE MEET?
We will be meeting at Pose Rooftop Lounge on Sunday night. You can access the elevator to the rooftop from the lobby. On Monday and Tuesday, we will meet at the Riverview room which is located at the back side of the Gaylord and facing the river. You will go through the Gaylord courtyard and exit the back right side to walk down a path to the Riverview. You will see signage for the Learning Leaders Conference.
WHY DO I NEED TO APPLY?
The Learning Leaders Conference is open to a limited number of attendees. It is our goal to connect accomplished learning professionals with each other and with companies that are doing innovative work. We want to be sure that the conversations that happen here are productive, influential, and maybe even at times contentious. It takes a certain type of person to engage at that level. You may have received an invitation because you were recommended as an influencer in the space. If you did not receive an invitation but think you are a fit, simply click Apply Now to submit your request.
HOW DOES THE APPLICATION PROCESS WORK?
Whether or not you've received an invitation, you still must initiate the registration process by clicking Apply Now. Once your application is approved, you will receive further instructions for how to pay for your registration and make travel arrangements.
DO I HAVE TO PAY?
The conference fee is $2,195. For that fee, we promise to deliver a solid two and half day adventure with an even greater afterburn.
HOW IS THIS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT?
Did you notice how we used mirror text for the word "conference" in our logo? Learning Leaders Conference is like a “flipped classroom” where you get lectures and content at home and then join the group for application. You were invited to this event because you already have great knowledge and insight. Our time together lets you apply that to real discussions that your fellow attendees are having, to real problems that we need to solve, to the things that make us feel stuck. Together, we can use what we know for the benefit of everyone in attendance. Our mentors will guide you through this journey and our learning technology companies will show you what they can do to assist in your efforts.
WHO IS RUNNING THIS SHOW?
The man behind the curtain is...a woman. Dawn Baron, Founder of Passion Profits Consulting, has been in the industry for more than 20 years and has had a burning desire to get her learning friends together for some real quality time. With hundreds of conferences under her belt and way too many trips to Vegas and Orlando, she is hoping that all of that history, and the network that has come from it, will give you something like you've never experienced before. Connect with Dawn on LinkedIn or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
WHY SUCH A DRIVE TO ADD VENDORS INTO THE MIX?
We feel that learning technology providers, or "vendors", play a critical role in the learning process. They have insights to the industry that go beyond what the practitioner can gather. And really, you can't succeed without them. We want to give vendors a place where they feel comfortable stepping up to the mic to share what they know. We want them to have a chance to really show us what they have to offer by being an integral part of the discussion. Vendors, at this conference, will be treated as attendees and contributors.
WHAT'S MY ROLE?
As an attendee at the Learning Leaders Conference, we are not telling you what time to eat, speak, and work. The agenda is loose but we need your commitment to show up --- the entire time. You are welcome to gather your own small group, free to walk into the Tech Playground, and encouraged to take a conversation offline with one of our mentors. But what we ask is that you 1) actively participate and 2) commit to staying with us for the full experience. If you can't, let's talk about giving your seat to someone else who can. We want you to be immersed with this group not jump ship before the ship sets sail.
