Alice in Wonderland has always been a favorite of mine. So many strange yet memorable things in one movie and so many of them have stayed with me as an adult. What I find most intriguing about the movie is how Alice --- just a young girl --- learns and grows (literally in some cases) through every encounter. From a talking cat to a mad queen, she learns how people can be so very different and yet how each has a story that can make her wiser.
Today's workforce is so dynamic and full of surprises that we have no choice but to learn in the moment and adapt from every interaction. We won't know how to handle every situation but what will help us be prepared is to take lessons from what others are doing, what they are experiencing, and how they are adapting.
‘The time has come,’ the Walrus said,‘To talk of many things: Of shoes and ships and sealing-wax, Of cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot. And whether pigs have wings.’
The time has come, friends, to prepare for how the world works and how we, as learning leaders, will respond to those changes.
